Crime Prevention Mission Statement
Our mission is to build a partnership between the Department and the community, to empower citizens through crime prevention education, and to promote an environment in which people act individually and collectively to prevent crime and build safer communities.
Crime Prevention
The Crime Prevention Unit provides educational presentations at community meetings, local school activities and community events.
The unit also encourages suggestions from community leaders on how the Police Department can improve its level of customer service. Crime Prevention staff is proud to receive positive feedback from people whose lives have benefited from members of the team.
The Crime Prevention Unit covers a diverse array of topics that are listed below:

There is a monthly meeting, open to all residents, regarding Neighborhood Watch Block Captains every fourth Tuesday of the month at the Mission Branch Library Community Room, next to the Police Station at 3855 Mission Avenue, at 6:00 pm and via zoom.
